Design

Good design is an essential part of presenting your business and governs how you are perceived by your customers. Our graphic design team have used their experience helping a range of businesses to develop new branding or to enhance a corporate style.

Lithographic Print

Traditional litho printing from single-dedicated pantone colours (PMS) right through to sparkling full colour process printing from our Heidelberg multi-colour presses.
Typical products:

  • colour brochures
  • folders
  • leaflets
  • flyers
  • business stationery

Digital Print

Our digital printing facilities provide short-run print without the set up costs associated with traditional methods. Vivid results are obtained on a wide range of materials.
Typical products:

  • short run colour programmes
  • school yearbooks
  • business cards

Large format print

Top quality inkjet prints up to 1100 mm wide by any length on gloss or matt paper or canvas.
Perfect for:

  • posters
  • wallpaper
  • display graphics
  • signage
  • pop-up banners
  • external, all-weather banners

Letterpress printing

Traditional printing using type, blocks and centuries old skills to give outstanding results when used with superior paper and card. Rarely found in today’s computer age, letterpress provides a unique feel that shouts quality.
Typical products:

  • invitations
  • social stationery
  • extra thick (800gsm) ‘At Home’ cards

Thermography

High-quality ‘raised’ printing. A resin powder is applied to the wet ink and the printed sheet is then conveyed through a heat tunnel. The melted resin gives an embossed effect to the printed image beneath. Great when combined with letterpress printing.
Perfect for:

  • top quality invitations
  • business cards
  • social stationery

Embossing

An inkless process whereby the paper or card is sandwiched between male and female dies under very high pressure. The fibres of the material mould themselves to the shape of the die giving a very subtle and understated high quality result. Paticularly suited to logos and initials.

Foil blocking

Metallic high-gloss or matt foil is impressed on the surface of the paper or card using a heated block to carry the image. Many foil colours are available besides gold and when combined with embossing can create a superb luxury effect.

Laminating

Gloss or matt laminating gives a luxurious effect adding value and protection to printed items. We use only recyclable laminates. Ideal for folders, menus, business cards and anything requiring frequent handling.

Environment

At Clarendon we are not just passionate about print but have committed ourselves to a programme for change to make our carbon footprint ever smaller and to operate in an environmentally friendly way. A great deal of thought and effort has gone into ensuring that we reduce the impact of our activities. Even this website is hosted on servers powered by 100% wind energy!

We use a heat-pump submerged in our pond to extract ambient heat – thus reducing our energy requirements, and all waste materials are collected for recycling by accredited contractors. Our latest acquisition is a state of the art chemistry-free platemaking machine which eliminates our chemistry useage.

An important step was gaining the coveted environmental FSC and PEFC accreditations. The demanding standards of the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) means that all paper we use can be traced back to its source – this is seen as the ‘gold standard’ of responsible husbandry of forests. All the paper and board we use is to the FSC or PEFC standard and on request we can put their logo on your finished printing as a badge of honour that you care how your printing is produced.
