Letterpress printing

Traditional printing using type, blocks and centuries old skills to give outstanding results when used with superior paper and card. Rarely found in today’s computer age, letterpress provides a unique feel that shouts quality. Follow the link to our sister site www.cotswoldletterpress.co.uk for more information and further samples of our work . . .
Typical products:

  • invitations
  • social stationery
  • extra thick (800gsm) ‘At Home’ cards

High-quality ‘raised’ printing. A resin powder is applied to the wet ink and the printed sheet is then conveyed through a heat tunnel. The melted resin gives an embossed effect to the printed image beneath. Great when combined with letterpress printing.
Perfect for:

  • top quality invitations
  • business cards
  • social stationery

An inkless process whereby the paper or card is sandwiched between male and female dies under very high pressure. The fibres of the material mould themselves to the shape of the die giving a very subtle and understated high quality result. Amazing results when combined with foil blocking.

Foil blocking

Metallic high-gloss or matt foil is impressed on the surface of the paper or card using a heated block to carry the image. Many foil colours are available besides gold and when combined with embossing can create a superb luxury effect.

Gloss or matt laminating gives a luxurious effect adding value and protection to printed items. We use only recyclable laminates. Ideal for folders, menus, business cards and anything requiring frequent handling.

At Clarendon Press we are not just passionate about our printing and customer service, our glorious surroundings inspire us to maintain the highest environmental standards. All the pictures above were taken here on site, although the cattle had escaped from the field next door!

We use the latest heat exchange technology to extract ambient heat from our fresh-water pond thus reducing our energy requirements, whilst at the same time the pond is a haven for mayflies, dragonflies and crayfish. All our waste materials are collected for recycling by accredited contractors and we offer a collection service for customers’ waste paper and card. We have invested in the latest platemaking technology that negates the need for chemicals, whilst ensuring our printing plates are produced with incredible accuracy. Even this website is hosted on servers powered by 100% wind energy!

As we are FSC and PEFC accredited, we can print the ‘tick-tree’ logo on customers’ printing showing that they also care about how their printing is produced.

Why not call in and have a look for yourself – you might be lucky and see our kingfisher!
